I am drowning
The vessel I called home for so long has failed me
My ferry sinks into the whirlpools
Beaten by the waves
I fear I'll never be home again
Possessing knowledge of how to swim
But lacking the will to kick my legs.
And as I sink into this Deep Deep darkness
(this cold abyss)
I close my eyes
(my body gives up on me)
and as the water fills my lungs
(to seal this nail into my coffin)
I prepare not to feel
And I beg
I beg for release from this maiden voyage
It seems my destiny is the sea floor
A million lost endeavors
buried at sea
A watery grave
And as I reach my senses
Calling for help
I beg to be saved
So I thrash and scream and yell
Desperate for survival
I call on the last I have
To conquer these monsters
But they are around every corner
Occupying the space in my mind
Manifesting my fears into realities
This shadow then grows an appendage
A Tentacle sickening and black
Reaching out for my chest
Trying to rip out my heart
As I start to surrender

Is this really my end?

A hand grabs mine and pulls
Pulls me from the sea
My lungs burn as I breathe the air
I want to Live, I want to survive
